Announcing CBJ and ACC-OC Media Partnership

Civic Business Journal (CBJ) has struck a new media partnership agreement with the Association of California Cities, Orange County (ACC-OC). As media partner, Civic Business Journal will cover ACC-OC news, events, and announcement.

The ACC-OC is a nonprofit association whose mission is to enhance the quality of life in Orange County by protecting and expanding local control for its cities. ACC-OC is known for its annual Golden Hub of Innovation award program to inspire innovation in local government policies as well as its near monthly well-attended board meetings.

The partnership is a natural fit for both organizations. CBJ publicizes how governments, organizations, associations and individuals step up to find solutions to challenges facing local governments. The relationship will provide an opportunity for CBJ to highlight the work that ACC-OC is doing in support of local government.

“I have been attending meetings of ACC-OC since its inception, and respect the efforts of its board and staff to advance innovative ideas that help local government success,” commented CBJ publisher Ryder Todd Smith. “ACC-OC strikes at the core of CBJ’s interest area: civic innovation, and I am excited to formalize our working relationship with ACC-OC to help other people and organizations learn about their work.”

The founding CEO of ACC-OC is Lacy Kelly. Ms. Kelly has a long history in local government and executive director roles within federal, state and local government strata of governance. Prior to her role as CEO at ACC-OC, Ms. Kelly served as the executive director of the League of Cities Orange County Division.

“The ACC-OC board is committed to helping local government work better throughout the state of California. Our efforts to research, develop and ultimately implement policy ideas in our member agencies is unique,” noted Lacy Kelly. “Working with CBJ will help better share our ideas and showcase the untold story of work put in by local leaders to advance their communities.”
In the coming months, readers can look forward to exclusive interviews with ACC-OC leadership, photography at ACC-OC events provided by CBJ and coverage of issues in Sacramento affecting Orange County.
