California Choice Energy Authority recently restructured its Board of Directors (BOD), transitioning from sole representation by the Lancaster City Council.
The decision marks a significant change to the Board’s composition — the City Manager of each member agency has appointed one board member and up to two alternate board members to serve. CCAs were prompted to select elected or appointed officials, or staff members from their respective agencies. The new leadership hierarchy ensures that each associate member has a voice in shaping the direction of future initiatives.
New Board Directors were officially sworn in during CalChoice’s public meeting held in Lancaster, California on May 21, 2024. “The recent changes to CalChoice’s Board structure is a big step forward,” said CalChoice Executive Director Jason Caudle. “Including representatives from each member agency fosters a more inclusive and collaborative environment that will help propel CalChoice’s mission to reach new heights.”
The following new primary board members bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the table:
- Doug Robertson, Town Manager of Apple Valley;
- Janelle Samson, Director of Finance for the City of Palmdale;
- George Harris, Director of Finance for the City of Lancaster;
- Steve Carmona, City Manager of Pico Rivera;
- Chris Diggs, Water Resources Director for the City of Pomona;
- Jessica Pulliam, Senior Management Analyst for the City of Rancho Mirage;
- Tom Prill, Deputy City Manager of San Jacinto and
- Alelia Parenteau, Sustainability and Resilience Director for the City of Santa Barbara.
“These individuals are poised to actively contribute in shaping the future of CalChoice,” continued Jason. “Their expertise combined with a passion for their communities make for the perfect recipe for driving meaningful change in the hopes of putting California on a cleaner and greener path.”
