Mayor Brett Murdock was elected to the Brea City Council in November 2010 to serve a four-year term. He took the Oath of Office December 7, 2010. This is his first term serving as Mayor. Mayor Murdock represents the City of Brea on several regional government boards including:

  • Chair of the Orange County Council of Governments
  • Chair of the Orange County Waste Management Commission
  • President of the Orange County Division of the League of California Cities
  • Chair of the Operations Committee of the Orange County Sanitation District
  • Regional councilmember of the Southern California Association of Governments

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of California, San Diego and a Juris Doctorate degree from the Chapman University School of Law. Mayor Murdock’s law practice is located here in the City of Brea.

Mayor Murdock is a 37-year resident of Brea. He and his wife Roni are graduates of Brea Olinda High School.
