Mayor Pro Tem Chuong Vo was elected to the Cerritos City Council in 2020. A Cerritos resident since 2000, Mayor Pro Tem Vo served on the Cerritos Community Safety Committee from 2009 to 2011 and as a Cerritos Planning Commissioner from 2011 to 2017.
Chuong Vo has more than 20 years of experience in law enforcement and is a former member of the Cerritos Optimist Club and the Kiwanis Club. He attended UCLA majoring in anthropology with an emphasis in biology. He is a recipient of an American Red Cross Hometown Hero Award and a South Bay Medal of Valor Lifesaving Award.
