Tripepi Smith Principal Jennifer Vaughn has completed and passed the Examination for Accreditation in Public Relations (APR). As part of successfully passing this exam, she may now include APR in her professional designation.
Jennifer joins Tripepi Smith Principals Jennifer Nentwig and Katherine Griffiths, who also hold the APR designation.
Directed by the Universal Accreditation Board, the accreditation program aims to refine the practices in public relations through candidates diving into 60 areas of knowledge, skills and abilities found in the profession. Successful candidates complete their personal studies by presenting a portfolio to a panel of three peers and sitting for an extensive exam. Upon passing, they are given the APR title in their name.
“Part of being in the Public Relations and Communications sphere is recognizing the importance of continuous learning and its benefit not only for yourself professionally, but for your team and your clients as a whole,” said Jennifer. “Earning this title has deepened my understanding of public relations, I am excited to put this new title to work.”
Professionals earning the APR must renew their credential through continuing professional development, providing leadership to the profession and serving their communities.
“We are proud of Jennifer for receiving her APR, adding to our growing team of Tripepi Smith APR professionals,” said Tripepi Smith CFO Nicole Smith. “In true Always Be Learning fashion, this achievement reflects her exceptional dedication to the profession and with these new skills, we are confident that Jennifer will bring even greater strategic expertise to our team. We congratulate her on this prestigious designation.”
Jennifer came to Tripepi Smith with over 20 years of experience in the public sector working for local government and public utilities. After spending 18 years with Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas), she moved to Texas and is a vital part of the team working to expand into the region. Jennifer serves as a lead on multiple accounts and provides guidance and expertise to her clients and teammates.
