League Of California Cities’ LA County Division Announces Staff Changes

The League of California Cities recently announced the reformation of their Los Angeles County Division staff. The Division added additional responsibilities for its three regional public affairs manager to provide essential staff services to Division Officers.

With the reshuffle, Jennifer Quan assumed the duties of Executive Director, Kristine Guerrero became the Legislative Director, and Jeff Kiernan took on the role of Communications Director.

“It presented a unique opportunity for the League to provide the most important services to the Division, and achieve some added efficiency through a combination of services from our existing Regional Public Affairs Managers,” said Quan.

The team plans to continue its work with city officials and engage them in advocacy and educational efforts. It will carry on the enhanced advocacy program by continuing with the Division’s annual Legislative Scorecard. In addition, the staff will continue to plan events such as the successful Economic Development Conference and popular All Cities Holiday Reception. The team will also support the Division by engaging in Intergovernmental and Inter-Association Relations and Fundraising in support of CITIPAC.

“This new staffing arrangement will maintain consistency and stability for the Division and I am looking forward to expanding the Division’s advocacy and educational programs, continuing our successful Legislative Scorecard and improving our communications with city officials through our newsletter and website,” said Bruce Barrows, former Division President and Cerritos Council Member.

The League of California Cities is an association of California city officials who work together to enhance their knowledge and skills, exchange information, and combine resources so that they may influence policy decisions that affect cities.
