Mathis Group Presents at Fairfield Leadership Academy

Recently, the City of Fairfield invited Dr. Bill Mathis to present at the Fairfield Leadership Academy for 2013. As part of the academy’s goal of supervisor training and support, Dr. Mathis provided supervisors mentoring and coaching training.

The discussion covered the importance of recognizing personnel characteristics to increase productivity and foster professional development. Other topics included personal modeling and effective mentoring. The final segment discussed was the importance of culture upon the mentee. City Manager Sean Quinn, closed the sessions with certificates of Accommodation for the completion of the sessions.

“Mentorship is especially vital in the public sector right now. Many local governments have undergone enormous changes and challenges in recent years. It is imperative that future leaders can learn from the lessons and innovations of current leadership” said Mathis. “Fairfield is fortunate to have a great management team that will be able to prepare members of the organization to continue this success.”

In addition to his recent workshop in Fairfield, Dr. Mathis is currently working with Police Departments in managing and coaching in cities struggling with lawlessness, shootings and children in the cross-fire.
