Merger Announced Between Renne Sloan Holtzman Sakai LLP (Public Law Group®) and Sacramento Law Firm Miller & Owen
Sacramento, CA – Miller & Owen, a Sacramento-based law firm focused on public agency law with special emphasis on local government, and Renne Sloan Holtzman Sakai LLP, Public Law Group®, a San Francisco-based law firm specializing in labor and employment law, litigation, government law, and workplace investigations, have announced a merger effective October 1, 2015.
The merger combines the two firms’ accumulated experience representing public agencies in California. Both firms are proud to be led by prominent female attorneys. Renne Sloan Holtzman Sakai LLP is led by Louise Renne, the former City Attorney of San Francisco, who is widely credited with creating a new model for the modern municipal law firm. Renne is also one of California’s top female lawyers according to the Daily Journal, and has been perennially recognized as a “Super Lawyer” by Law & Politics magazine. Miller & Owen’s principal shareholder, Nancy C. Miller, serves as general counsel to a number of public agencies. Miller has also been named a “Super Lawyer” by the Law & Politics magazine since 2004 and holds an “AV” pre-eminent peer review rating from Martindale Hubbell. Miller currently serves on the Board of Governors of the University of California, Hastings College of Law and formerly served as Adjunct Professor to McGeorge School of Law.
