Sewer Line Improvements in Yavapai County

Following the County’s request to help ensure project quality, Civiltec has continued to build its relationship with Yavapai County in its latest project. Yavapai County recently contracted the Civiltec team to improve sewer lines within the Town of Seligman on Historic Route 66.

The Seligman Sanitary District is one of six sanitary districts within Yavapai County and serves approximately 27 business and residential customers. The existing wastewater system was originally constructed in the early 1990s and has seen a few upgrades over the last 100 years. Due to the location of the 8″ cast iron sewer primary collection line under the Burlington, Northern & Santa Fe (BNSF) railroad tracks, the project required coordination with the Railroad and the Sanitary District for rights of entry and permitting of the improvements. The system has deteriorated over the years and is in need of upgrades, including replacement of a portion of the residential collection system and repairs to the existing 8″ collection main under the railroad tracks.

Civiltec has completed the following tasks: an aerial unmanned vehicle (drone) survey with supplemental surface topography for utility locating and match-up design constraints; utility potholing; and video inspection of the 100-year-old sewer main. The team is currently working on the updated system design.

Richard Aldridge serves as the Project Manager and lead Engineer on the project. He is supported by Ray BuettnerMark MyersKen DavidsonBen Tilman, and Jesse Tillman in the Prescott office for design and survey services. Final plans and specifications are scheduled to be completed by April 2019.
