Founding Partners Matt Silver and Curtis Wright delivered six sessions on topics including nuisance abatement, the Fourth Amendment, and current legislation.

Curtis’ session, “Illegal Soliciting on Private/Public Property, Illegal Camping, and Other Transient Issues,” explored timely issues for cities addressing the health and safety challenges stemming from a rise in homelessness. He covered new and updated laws relating to transient activities, soliciting, and illegal camping, and touched on process considerations, such as managing recurring issues.
Matt and Curtis also shared lessons learned and best practices on “Abatement of Buildings Used for Drugs, Gangs, and/or Prostitution,” “Inspection Warrants and Abatement Warrants,” “Fourth Amendment: Rights of Entry, Inspections, and Abatement,” and an “Annual Code Enforcement Legal Update.”
