Since 2002, the City of Cupertino has engaged and magnified its community through its newsletter, the Cupertino Scene. This publication has gone through many changes over the years, and yet, it continues to be a beloved source of all the things happening in Cupertino. For the April – July 2024 issue, Tripepi Smith focused the publication on highlighting Cupertino’s sustainable efforts in celebration of its upcoming Earth and Arbor Day Festival.
“Working on the Scene is an exciting, collaborative process and with this issue’s theme, I hope it strikes a chord with the community,” said Tripepi Smith Senior Graphic Designer Kjerstin Wingert. “Cupertino is an innovative and supportive city with so much to highlight so designing something that captures that is an enjoyable and rewarding opportunity.”
The Scene, which shifted from a monthly to a quarterly publication in 2023, focuses on a range of subjects to engage and inform Cupertino community members. The April – July 2024 edition includes articles on Cupertino’s regional shuttle service, clean energy funding and initiatives, development updates, and more.
“Tripepi Smith has been a wonderful partner in supporting the City in effectively and thoughtfully communicating with its residents,” said City of Cupertino Deputy City Manager Tina Kapoor. “The Scene is a valuable resource and a powerful tool for informing and connecting our community, and the TS design team has handled that responsibility with poise and consistency.”
Team Tripepi Smith has supported Cupertino in publishing the Scene since 2018, after first working on a communications assessment for the City in 2015. Since then, Tripepi Smith has updated branded publications for the City, worked on Cupertino’s 2018 and 2019 Climate Action Plan reports, and provided communications support to the 2024 State of the City Address.
