California Consulting Helps Four Cities Receive Park Funding Recommendations

The California State Department of Parks and Recreation announced that four Land & Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant applications submitted by California Consulting have been forwarded to the National Park Service and recommended for funding. California Consulting submitted LWCF grant applications for the Cities of Chowchilla, Newman, Reedley, and Waterford that were recommended for funding.

The LWCF provides park funding for cities and counties to acquire, develop, operate and maintain park and recreation areas and facilities. Projects intended to be funded include trails, campgrounds, picnic areas, natural areas and cultural areas for recreational use. The National Park Service’s approval of the recommended projects is expected within the next three months.

The grants will fund the construction of a new amphitheater stage at Veteran’s Memorial Park in the City of Chowchilla, and a new skate plaza at Lion’s Park in the City of Newman. In addition it will fund park improvements for the South Reinway Recreational Park in the City of Waterford, and Mueller Park in the City of Reedley.

“California Consulting works hard to produce high quality applications for our clients. Our grant writing team is experienced and knowledgeable and we’ve written 525 applications that have been funded over ten years,” said California Consulting Company Grants Manager Tristan Shamp. “Having four applications receive recommendations for funding show the grant writing expertise of the California Consulting team.”

Over $16 million of LWCF grant requests were made to and reviewed by California State Parks, for an available $6.9 million dollars of highly sought after park funding. Sixteen park projects in California were recommended for funding. Grant applications submitted by California Consulting for its clients comprised 25% of all the projects recommended for funding.
