Scott is one of the world’s most recognized figure skating stars, winning an Olympic gold medal in 1984 and 70 additional titles, awards, and honors.

The playground, formerly known as Elm Street Park Playground, the first of its kind in the nation, incorporates four of the five National Demonstration Site (NDS) designations.

Steve Croft, mayor of the City of Lakewood, was appointed to the California Joint Powers Insurance Authority’s (California JPIA) Executive Committee on January 25, 2023, to fill the vacant seat of Darcy McNaboe. McNaboe concluded her term as mayor with the City of Grand Terrace in December 2022.

Maria Galvan, a senior risk manager who joined the California Joint Powers Insurance Authority (California JPIA) in 2013, commemorates a milestone anniversary—ten years of service—last month. Promoted from risk manager to senior risk manager in July 2019, Galvan manages member relations. She oversees training, risk management, claims, and finance for members in Region 5, which includes the San Gabriel Valley, Pomona Valley, West Los Angeles County, and the City of La Palma.

One of the California Joint Powers Insurance Authority’s (California JPIA) newest members, the City of Lemon Grove, is a community of more than 26,000 residents located in eastern San Diego County. The city elected to participate in the Authority’s Primary Liability Program, Excess Workers’ Compensation Program, and Property Program as of July 1, 2020, seeking improvements to the city’s day-to-day risk management oversight as well as reduced program expenditures.
