Wade McKinney

Mr. McKinney has been serving as City Manager of Indian Wells, California since 2013. He previously served as City Manager to the City of Atascadero for 16 years and the City of Shafter for over eleven years, and was Assistant City Manager to the City of Taft.

Mr. McKinney is a past President of the California City Management Foundation, previous member of the Executive Board of the League of California Cities, City Manager’s Department, and an International City Management Association credentialed manager. He started his career as a City Planner. Mr. McKinney holds a Bachelor’s degree in Planning from the California Polytechnic University at Pomona.
