LOS ANGELES, CA – Best Best & Krieger LLP is pleased to welcome Leeann Habte as a partner in the Business practice group. Based in the firm’s Los Angeles office, Habte represents healthcare clients on a broad range of information privacy and security, reimbursement and regulatory compliance issues.
Habte provides strategic counseling on complex health care issues including: the interaction of state and federal privacy laws, data sharing arrangements, privacy and security risks, and electronic health record system issues, Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement and compliance issues, such as fraud and abuse. Prior to joining BB&K, Habte served as senior counsel in Foley & Lardner LLP’s health care practice.
In addition to an expansive health-centric legal practice, Habte has years of applied health field experience. She served as an associate director at the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research as well as research director at the Minnesota Department of Health before becoming an attorney.

The native Minnesotan attended St. Cloud State University and the University of Minnesota for her undergraduate and graduate studies. She earned her law degree from Loyola Law School while working full-time at UCLA.
