ICMA Calls on Tripepi Smith to Provide New Member Service

At the 2019 International City/County Management Association (ICMA) Annual Conference, ICMA revealed a new member service powered by Tripepi Smith. The Reputation Management Services offering will help ICMA members impact Google search results for their name by creating/optimizing personal social media profiles, publishing professional interviews, and/or launching personal websites. ICMA will subsidize the cost of each of the three service packages, up to 50 percent for Members in Transition. Reduced member pricing is also available for non-transitioning members.

“It may not be fair, but public servants such as ICMA members can quickly find themselves at the center of negative attention from local media and on social media. Serving as a city, county or town manager is a high-profile position that is subject to all sorts of online attention – good and bad,” said Marc Ott, ICMA’s Executive Director. “By offering the Reputation Management Services solution, we are empowering our members to take more control over their online reputations by sharing all the ways they have served their communities.”

On October 20, 2019, Tripepi Smith President Ryder Todd Smith announced the new service at the ICMA Annual Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. Tripepi Smith and ICMA have entered into a three-year agreement for Tripepi Smith to provide this service to ICMA members. During his brief presentation at two gatherings attended by over 100 members, Ryder shared the vision behind Reputation Management Services:

By proactively creating content, ICMA members will generate more opportunities for Google to share their stories and give members a chance to control their corner of the Internet,” said Ryder. “This service will prove especially helpful during the recruitment process, since it is common for public agency recruiters to comb through search engine results and social networks for any red flags during the recruitment process.
